Invasive Shrimp to Innovative Feeds

Introduced into waterways as an additional feed in the 1960’s, Mysis diluviana quickly became invasive and began out-competing the native fish populations for available phytoplankton and zooplankton.

In the early 2000s, Piscine Energetics began removing the Mysis to restore the waterways to their original food webs. They flash-froze the mysis to preserve its nutritional value and began supplying Zoos and Aquariums.

Today, Piscine Energetics is well-known to professional and hobbyist aquarists for PE® Mysis, PE® Pellets, and PE® Flakes and for its partnerships with conservation efforts worldwide.
